The innovation ecosystem of Paris-Saclay encompasses over 300 research laboratories, 16,000 researchers, world-renowned schools and universities, market-leading companies, and a plethora of innovative startup enterprises. Together, these entities establish Paris-Saclay as the foremost deeptech research hub in Europe.

The AIDA project: new AI developed by Université Paris-Saclay and IBM

AIDA, short for ‘Artificial Intelligence for Digital Automation,’ is an R&D project initiated in 2020. It brings together researchers from the Université Paris-Saclay and the expertise of private engineers, particularly those from the industry giant IBM. AIDA’s goal is to create a learning platform that enables companies to enhance their performance by leveraging AI. The developed AI has the capability to formulate relevant suggestions for boosting the company’s productivity and aiding in its automation efforts. It also assists the company in its decision-making processes.

Paris-Saclay Cancer Cluster: a project by Sanofi and 8 public institutions and laboratories

Sanofi, the 3rd largest global company in the Healthcare-Biotech sector, has partnered with 8 research laboratories, universities, and public health institutions to establish the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster – PSCC. Initially led by Sanofi in collaboration with Université Paris-Saclay, Institut Curie, Cancer Campus Grand Paris Gustave Roussy, INSERM, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, APHP, Unicancer, and the Medicen competitiveness cluster, the project now comprises over 60 partners and 10 associated startups. The goal of PSCC is to create a world-class center of excellence that brings together companies, healthcare, biotech, research, and groundbreaking innovation to combat cancer.

Cutting-edge scientific equipment and facilities accessible to everyone

Digital macroscopes, supercomputers, particle accelerators… Paris-Saclay is equipped with cutting-edge scientific facilities, some of which are unique in Europe. These public infrastructures are also available for use by businesses in the region, allowing them to explore and test their solutions. Within these spaces, R&D projects and public research initiatives draw inspiration from one another. They empower researchers and engineers to advance research in all of Paris-Saclay’s key sectors, including Healthcare-Biotech, Mobility, Digital Technologies, Aeronautics-Security-Defense, Agritech-Foodtech, and Cleantech.
